Nephrurus Asper — Rough Knob-Tailed Gecko

Nephrurus Asper

Last season was the first season I allowed my adult breeding pair of Nephrurus Asper to breed, as I believe in nature they reproduce at quite a young age, but in retrospect I prefer to wait until individual females have sufficient weight and growth on them so not to cause a female to become exhausted and/or have detrimental complications.

Successfully my female produced a total of 5 clutches to which I had a 100% hatch rate, and no juvenile deaths to date. It is here once again where more research is required on “Temperature Sex Based Determination”, as incubating at a stable 27 degrees produced a ratio of 3.7 (i.e. 3 males and 7 females).
